The Rescue Ranch is a peaceful place where animals live in wide open space. They’re fed everyday and have plenty to eat. Life on this farm is really quite sweet. It’s a place for animals to come and stay and meet new friends and have fun each day. The animals are friendly and very sincere and most have retired from a long career. Except for those who were born on the farm and a few in the woods that have caused alarm If they live in the woods or somewhere on the farm they all contribute to its countryside charm. Jimmy was rushing to school one day when he joined his friend Howie for a quick bale of hay. But when Jimmy got dirty he felt so much the fool that he wished he could change while playing hooky from school. Then a few words of wisdom and a bath from a hose made Jimmy real happy when he took time to pose.

Ricky and Bobo

Ricky and Bobo learn a tough lesson when they sneak out of their home without telling anyone they were leaving.

First, the two friends were attacked by some bees but they ran different ways and got lost in the trees. Then they met up again near the Rescue Ranch Lake and when they made a small boat it became their mistake. First, the boat took on water until the two had enough then Bobo went missing when the waves got too rough.

Gary was mad and he was so big that he made Sammy feel about the size of a twig. Then Terry the Turtle warned Phillip the Frog that Sammy the Snake had climbed on the log. So Sammy went home for something to eat and then gave his advice on avoiding defeat.

The night was like magic for everyone there until Scottie the Skunk left his scent in the air. But the spirit of Christmas was upbeat and strong and it change all their hearts so they all got along. Written in rhyme, author Mark Albini tells the story fo what happened to Bobo the Mouse on Christmas Eve.
